St. Catharines Dental Specialist For Children

We welcome all families. You can call or email to book an appointment. We are always excited to see you!

Checkup & Cleaning

We like to see your child on a regular basis for a check-up and cleaning (every 4-6 months). During a typical visit, we do a thorough exam to assess the health of the teeth, gums, and mouth. Next we take x-rays to check for cavities, clean and polish the teeth, and apply fluoride for cavity prevention. Before you leave, we will discuss and reinforce good oral hygiene practice at home.

Fillings and Crowns

Typically small cavities, or cavities on the front teeth, are fixed with white fillings, and big cavities on the back teeth and molars are fixed with stainless steel caps. The caps are used for big cavities to help protect the tooth from further damage. We recommend cleaning your child's teeth after every snack and meal to prevent the likelihood of a dental cavity.

Sedation

Children can be fussy. To help make you and your child more comfortable, we are proud to provide all types of sedation, including laughing gas, oral sedation, and sleep dentistry. Click here to learn more.

Dental Sealants

Sealants are a protective coating placed on the grooves of the teeth (typically molars that are 6 years or older) to help prevent cavities. The sealant will block food particles from getting trapped in pits and grooves of the teeth. The procedure is simple and non-invasive.

Space Maintainer

Baby teeth serve many important roles before they fall out, and one of their jobs is to hold the space for the adult teeth. When a baby tooth is lost early, we may need an appliance or “spacer” to ensure there will be enough room for the adult teeth to properly erupt.

Dental Emergencies

Children tend to be more care-free, and care-less, than grown-ups. We understand that accidents happen, and when they do, we are here to help your child. If your child has a dental emergency or dental trauma, call us immediately. We will fit you in as soon as possible.
